About the CEO
Dr. David Bright assumed the reins of Weatherchance LLC on February 1, 2022. David has over three decades of experience in meteorological application development, research-to-operations, operational forecasting, and management. He has worked for both the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Department of Energy (DOE). David’s experience in NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS) includes developmental and leadership positions in state-of-the-art operational centers and Testbeds. This includes the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) and its Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT), and Aviation Weather Center (AWC) and its Aviation Weather Testbed (AWT). David also worked in the modeling of hydrologic and wind energy while at DOE, and for seven years was the meteorologist in charge of the NWS Weather Forecast Office in Portland, Oregon. David’s education comprises degrees in Atmospheric Sciences from Oregon State University (B.S.), the University of Washington (M.S.), and the University of Arizona (Ph.D.). David is also a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).
